Preparing for Drinking Situations

Being prepared doesn't mean having to plan every moment of your night or day. It means doing a few small things before you get into a drinking situation, to make sure your night or day goes the way you want it to.

Doing a little bit of preparation beforehand can avoid the bad outcomes nobody plans for, like passing out in the gutter or having a massive hangover the next day!

Some simple things you could do in advance to prepare for your next drinking situation:

  • 1

If you don't want to drink, let people know you'll be driving

  • 2

Eat a good meal before you start drinking

  • 3

Make arrangements for how you will be getting home

  • 4

Only take enough money for the number of drinks you plan to have

  • 5

Work out how you will pace yourself, for example alternating with water or switching to low alcohol drinks
